Job Description

Preventive Services help keep children safe from abuse, neglect and maltreatment and help them remain at home and in their communities. We partner with at-risk families by assisting them to develop the skills to manage crisis and maintain safety and stability by offering a range of clinical and concrete services to help them thrive.  Our culturally competent staff addresses the individual needs of the child, each family member residing with the child, and their social economic environment. Families are seen primarily in their homes and communities.

The Supervisor oversees that quality casework services is provided and facilitates staff professional development. He/she is the point person that guide, support and train staff to help families achieve positive outcomes. In addition, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible to ensure that all follow up documentation is provided in case record.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provide clinical and casework supervision to assigned staff

  2. Participate in Family Team Conferences as needed.

  3. Provide on-going feedback to supervisees regarding individual and program performance in the context of professional development and trainings.

  4. Work collaboratively with ACS regarding referrals and resolution of barriers to effective interventions.

  5. Supervise at multiple program sites as needed.

  6. Provide coverage in staff absence and attend Home Assessments sessions when appropriate.

  7. Document contacts in PROMIS and CONNECTION systems.

  8. Monitor timetable for FASPs Reports and schedules for ERC, CSC, FTC and Termination sessions (when needed).

  9. Coordinate with staff to provide special events for families (when needed).

  10. Actively participate with staff and director to resolve clinical problems that interfere with the delivery of services.

  11. Track and monitor Program’s Outcome measurements and develop Corrective Action Plan(s) as necessary.

  12. Ensure timely submission of Internal and External Incident Reports and participate in appropriate follow up reviews.

  13. Monitor program’s utilization and productivity to ensure regulatory compliance, including conducting Quality Assurance/ documented chart review and internal audit.

  14. Accompany worker on home visits, family sessions on needed for support and to assist with assessment and interventions.

  15. Collaborate with Director to identify and implement strategies to increase team cohesion and morale

  16. Complete supervisory documentation, including timely monthly case review notes

  17. Participate in the assignment of cases for presentation for weekly consultations and professional development logs.

  18. Reviews charts, service plans and progress notes.

  19. Ensures that documentation meets regulatory requirements

  20. Participate in and oversee admission and discharge processes and decisions.

  21. Participate in interviews for potential staff.

  22. Conduct community outreach and maintain external collaborative and community relationships.

  23. Participate and facilitate various meetings in the director’s absence.

  24. Carry a small case load as needed

Job Requirements


Possess Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or a related subject area and a current NYS license.  Travel in the community and home-based work. Evening hours are required, on occasion.
Preferred Requirements:
Bilingual/bicultural.   Have prior experience working in the child welfare system or with children and families.  Have ability to work as part of a team.  Eligible to enroll into Seminar In field  Instruction (SIFI)
