Job Description

OVERVIEW:  The Social Worker is to work in a licensed out-patient mental health clinic that specializes in mental health and substance abuse providing individual, family and group treatment to all age groups with a focus on adolescents.  Also work off site in schools providing mental health consultation services.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Provide individual, family and group therapy to individuals and families at our base clinic and off site at some of our satellites located in boy yeshivas.  Provide mental health consultations and workshops at Yeshivas as well.
  • Complete intakes, treatment plan reviews, and discharge summaries for clients on caseload
  • Use evidence based modalities to treat individuals, families, and lead small groups.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, e.g. progress notes, assessments and treatment plans, statistics, and other documentation as required by The Jewish Board, and governmental licensing and funding entities.
  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and continuing education activities. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), with a minimum of one year of relevant experience in a similar setting.  Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification is required.  Familiarity and knowledge of Orthodox Jewish population a must.  Prior experience with teenagers a plus but not required.  Prior experience with substance abuse a plus but not required
VISUAL AND MANUAL DEXTERITY:
  • The candidate should be able to read documents for analytical purposes such as computer information, software, computer graphic design programs, etc.
  • Limited applications of manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL EFFORT:
  • The work environment involves no physical risk or hazardous conditions.
  • To perform the essential functions of this job, the candidate is routinely required to sit ( 90% of the time) and stand ( 10% of the time)
