Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Social Worker is responsible to work with the Orthodox Jewish adolescent population in Brooklyn as well as with the diverse population in Brooklyn at the clinic (all ages and backgrounds).Work in a licensed out-patient mental health setting which specializes in substance abuse as well as mental health.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Carry a case load of individual and family cases (primarily youth but not exclusively)
  • Provide crisis intervention, assessments and referrals both on site and off site in yeshivas.
  • Provide therapy in licensed out-patient satellite clinic at yeshiva for boys.
  • Complete paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS MAY INCLUDE :

EDUCATIONAL / TRAINING REQUIRED :

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, (MSW), with a minimum of one year of relevant experience with similar population.  
  • LMSW or LCSW certification required. 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / LANGUAGE PREFERENCE:

  • He/she must have knowledge and familiarity with Yeshiva system and Orthodox Jewish Population. 
  • Previous experience with adolescents and/or substance abuse a plus.
