Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The receptionist will be responsible for welcoming on-site visitors and answering incoming calls.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Check-In clients (check insurance, accept payments for service, inform clinicians)
  • Record co-payments and private fees in Scheduler and fee cards.
  • Verify Close Cash Drawer Batch Report with daily receipts (cash, check & credit card payments)
  • Disburse Medicaid public transportation fare. 
  • Data enter Medicaid transportation charges into NYC PTAR system
  • Submit Medicaid public transportation monthly for reimbursement
  • Distribute Intake applications to new clients
  • Telephone confirmations of scheduled intakes and psychiatric evaluations and med visits
  • Run reports.
  • Sort filing
  • Photocopying and mail projects

EDUCATIONAL / TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma. 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / LANGUAGE PREFERENCE:

  • Light typing skills (35 wpm, minimum). 
  • Good communication skills.
    • Ability to take messages and communicate information clearly
    • Bilingual (English/Russian) preferred.
