Job Description

OVERVIEW: The Program Coordinator of HCBS will work closely with the Director of HCBS and assist in overseeing the Community Habilitation and Medicaid Service Coordination programs. The candidate will have a working knowledge of OPWDD system and regulations. They will provide leadership and support and ensure that the delivery of services is consistent with the agency mission and in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:

  • Directly supervise Community Habilitation Coordinators.
  • Directly supervise Medicaid Service Coordinators.
  • Attend trainings to increase knowledge of the HCBS programs and services.
  • Ensure that coordinators and employees out in the field complete paperwork and meet standards recommended by OPWDD and The Jewish Board.
  • Meet monthly and as needed with coordinators of each program, identifying ways in which to improve the running of programs.
  • Review programmatic updates with coordinators at meetings and when necessary. 
  • Ensure that all required trainings for HCBS staff are completed, documented, organized and easily accessible on an ongoing basis.
  • Responsible for organizing and developing a system for tracking MSC activities each month to assist with analyzing monthly billing and program requirements.
  • Assist MSCs in maintaining and applying for benefits and entitlements for clients.
  • Review MSC monthly notes and provide clinical oversight and develop ways in which to better assist clients and families.
  • Ensure family and individual’s satisfaction with staff and services.
  • Provide Intake assistance to families and individuals.
  • Supervise HR process of onboarding new employees and work with Administrative Assistant to ensure all necessary documentation and protocols are implemented.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

    BA preferred in related discipline required along with a minimum of one year in the field of Intellectual Disabilities. Excellent interpersonal skill necessary in addition to being highly organized .Computer skills a must.
