Job Description

The clinical consultation program with our Preventive Services division has full time and part time open positions available in various ACS field offices located throughout the borough of Brooklyn with the following specialties.

Early Childhood Coordinator

OVERVIEW: The Early Childhood Coordinator will function in an ACS borough office as the lead clinical consultant on early childhood development issues impacting families known to child welfare.

Job Requirements

Knowledge of the child welfare system preferred.   Have a strong knowledge of early childhood mental health or infant and early childhood development, including expertise in the impact of trauma on young children.  Willingness to work the New York City Holiday schedule. Master in Social Work, LMSW / LCSW or Licensed Psychologist, or Masters in Early Childhood Development with 3-5 years in early childhood development field.  Domestic violence and / or substance knowledge helpful
 
Substance Abuse Coordinator/CASAC
 
OVERVIEW:   The Substance Abuse Coordinator/CASAC will assess, counsel and refer individuals and families requiring assistance dealing with substance use problems, such as alcohol or drug abuse.
REQUIREMENTS:    Credentialed CASAC\Licensed Master’s Level Clinician with 2-4 years SA work experience.   Knowledge of the child welfare system; clear understanding of  the impact of Alcohol and other Substances on family life; knowledge of mental health issues as co-occurring issues in substance use; understanding of racial and cultural forces impacting those affected by substance abuse; bi-lingual a plus.   Willingness to work the NYC Holiday Schedule. 
 
Domestic Violence Coordinator
OVERVIEW: The Domestic Violence Coordinator will function as the clinical consultant on domestic violence issues impacting families known to child welfare.
Requirements: Knowledge of the child welfare system preferred.  Knowledge of domestic violence issues and current directives.  Willingness to work the New York City Holiday schedule. Master’s Degree in Social Work or related discipline, MA plus 2-3 years of direct domestic violence experience and experience working with / knowledge of local DV providers or BSW, BA plus two years direct DV experience and two years of social service experience plus experience working with / knowledge of local DV providers. Mental health and / or substance abuse knowledge helpful.
