Job Description


The Assistant Director supervises multiple residential apartments/homes. He/she has clinical and administrative oversight of these sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:

  • Provides regular supervision of management staff.
  • Works with managers on staffing and scheduling
  • Provides day to day fiscal oversight on all expenditures
  • Reviews and approves weekly timesheets and overtime sheets
  • Provides clinical oversight to psychology and social work staff
  • Works closely with client families and guardians to coordinate client care
  • Ensures appropriate follow up of management staff for all recommended changes
  • Responsible to attend OPWDD/IAC trainings related to regulatory matters
  • Ensures regulatory compliance at each facility on a day to day basis
  • Responsible for the review of fire plans and fire drill compliance
  • Develops strategies to improve quality of life of the clients
  • Coordinates regular interdisciplinary team meeting at each site to review progress
  • Participates in coordinated meetings with individuals’ day programs/schools.
  • Participates in administrative meetings
  • Participates in the Incident review committee meetings


Masters of Social Work (MSW) or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of experience working with the intellectually disabled population. Previous management experience is strongly preferred.
