Job Description


A Teacher Aide is responsible for assisting the Head Teacher and Assistant Teacher in all aspects of the management, care and overall treatment of a group of developmentally delayed pre-school children in a classroom setting.  A Teacher Aide is directly responsible to the Head Teacher who heads his/her teaching team.


  • To assist the Head Teacher and Assistant Teacher, in collaboration with clinical staff, in planning an individualized program which meets the educational, emotional and social needs of each child.
  • To assist the Educational Team in implementing individual psycho educational plans for each child and providing a therapeutic milieu for all of the children.
  • To participate in weekly integration conferences and case presentation/treatment plan reviews, as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • High School Diploma and experience in early childhood and/or special education.  Bachelor’s Degree and current enrollment in a Master’s Degree program in Special Education is preferred. 
  • Part Time; 31 hours a week; 11 ½ month position (September through mid-August)
