OVERVIEW: The Martha K. Selig Educational Institute Director (MKSEI Director), under the direction of the Senior Director of Organizational Development, will oversee the design, implementation, dissemination, and evaluation of training programs that facilitate professional development and promote excellence in behavioral health and social service practice. The Director will identify new training initiatives to meet the organization’s needs and will enhance the use of distance learning strategies. The Director will work closely with the Clinical and Medical Services Program Manager to enhance MKSEI’s business and marketing plan, expanding growth of external business while maintaining a fiscally viable entity. The Director will also work closely with other departments within the Clinical and Medical Services division, including Quality Outcomes and Medical Practice in helping to guide agency standards and best practices. The Director will supervise and oversee the work of MSKEI Organizational Development Specialists and Training Specialists. The Director will work across all levels of the organization to craft and execute a strategy to drive employee performance in support of the strategic plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

Training administration

  • Manage course selection, curriculum creation, scheduling, enrollment, evaluation

  • Set standards and linkage for agency training endeavors not directly conducted by the training department

  • Set standards and supervise the use of performance indicators with clinical trainings

  • Supervise MKSEI staff

  • Link training with research and clinical evidence endeavors

  • Monitor trends in new clinical areas which require new or changed training packages

Training and case, team, and system consultation delivery

  • Design, implement, disseminate, evaluate, and promote evidence-based training packages

  • Design and deliver trainings in areas of relevance to agency practice and community practice, particularly on topics of emerging interest that do not yet have a substantial evidence base

  • Manage the development of program or division model of care. Oversee the delivery of training and consultation supporting model of care implementation, sustainability, and the monitoring and use of outcomes.

  • Ensure sustainability of training through supervisor development and case consultation

Business planning, marketing, and development of new endeavors

  • Further develop MKSEI business plan and marketing strategy

  • Contribute to grant writing

  • Initiate and supervise development of e-learning ventures

Participation in other leadership and agency endeavors

  • Manage dissemination of agency standards and best practice guidelines through training and consultation

  • Ensure linkage between training endeavors and client-based outcomes

  • Direct the expansion, training, and consultation of peer workforce

  • Crisis consultation to agency programs and external entities                                                               

REQUIREMENTS: (1) Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Organizational Development, or equivalent field. Doctorate degree preferred. (2) A minimum of five years of relevant experience with best practices. (2) Two years in the supervision of professionals in community settings. (3) Documented excellence as a trainer and creator of educational packages. (4) Documented excellence as a manager. (5) Strong skills in writing and outcomes-based evaluation. (6) Clinical experience in best practices with an emphasis on trauma-informed care, recovery-based practice, and/or integrated health/behavioral healthcare. (7) Knowledge of skills in cultural competency training and crisis response. (8) Strong interpersonal skills.
